Why Climaboard warms so efficiently

The basic aim behind TMM Climaboard (the skirting-board heating system) is to create comfort for people staying in a room. The goal is to create a well-balanced thermal environment. Thus the applied technological concept will therefore not be an “air circulation based heating” as found in conventional heating systems (see figure-1), but rather a “thermal radiation from the warmer walls”. With this technology, the radiated heat is healthy and beneficial and is perceived to be as natural and pleasant as solar heat.

How does TMM Climaboard™ skirting-board heating system work?

We simply use one of the laws of physics known as “the Coanda effect”. It states that a stream of hot air will always move upwards following some surface (for example cold outer structural walls). This is the reason why we install TMM Climaboard™ along cold walls. When hot water circulates through the copper pipes, heat is transferred on to the aluminium blades and their cover. A thin upward flow of hot air is generated to heat the capillary layer of the walls which in turn release, in a homogeneous way, the radiation heat into the room. Comfort within the room is perceived even at very low air temperature making the system extremely cost-effective. So we have a heating system which reacts very quickly and which heats rooms, starting from the coldest point. Thus a sense of well being is created, at levels which have not been attained by any other existing heating system yet.

Since TMM Climaboard heats from the bottom up over a wider area, delivers heat more evenly to a room resulting in no hot or cold spots and no accumulations of wasted heat below the ceiling. The following illustration shows this effect quite clearly:

TMM Climaboard can be readily installed to replace radiators. It doesn’t matter if the water inlet and outlet pipes emerge from the walls or the floor, standard plumbing components and techniques can be used to connect to TMM Climaboard in almost any situation.

Here’s how the system is assembled:
Individual elements are cut at the required angle. PVC parts and the top aluminium cover are assembled together and fixed to the wall by means of screws and plugs. Pipe connections must be oriented towards the required direction frommontage the start. PVC mountings are fixed to the PVC profile at 30cm intervals. The heat exchange elements are assembled via pipe fittings at required length and inserted on the PVC mountings. Finally the aluminium covers are fixed to the mountings and are simply bent to fit corners and wall-shapes as needed. And that’s all!
